After our day at Disney, we spent last night at home. We ordered McAlister's and watched The Pelican Brief. Cameron had never seen the John Grisham thriller. He really liked it and ranked it above the Firm which we had watched over Christmas break. It was a fun night introducing him to it and a great way to rest from our busy day.
Today, we started a little bit later as we didn't have as far to travel. We made the Kanapaha Botanical Garden in Gainesville our first destination. We spent a little over an hour walking through the bamboo forest, herb garden, and waterfall trails showing Cameron everything we loved about the place. There were several really beautiful spots to stop. I loved that there were butterflies everywhere but in the butterfly garden where we found a hummingbird to watch. We were thankful for all of the shade as it was a hot day.
After the gardens, Cameron picked Relish for lunch. Hamburgers have become one of his favorite foods and today's did not disappoint. We then tried to show him Swamphead Brewery as we loved the outside atmosphere there. We decided to visit again another day as it was packed with people attending a Cinco de Mayo festival.
We returned to Ocala for a break from the heat. Once everyone was well rested, we attended Tijuana Flats' Cinco de Mayo festival. The specials were good and the food was delicious. We just finished eating outside when the rain started. Doug and I were happy that we didn't have to water tonight. Phil joined us once we returned for a rematch of Catan. Unfortunately, Cameron destroyed us this time. It didn't matter, however, as we all had a lot of fun anyway.
