While we were enjoying a relaxing weekend in Ocala, Brett, Cal and Meg were all having a great time in the Midwest. Karen spent the four day weekend in Bloomington hanging out with Brett and getting to know Brett's friends better. They saw the movie Inside Out 2, went out to dinner, visited Oliver Winery, attended mass and did some shopping. Brett called today to let me know how much fun it really was. It sure looked like it to me from the pictures that Karen posted on Facebook.
Cal spent his holiday weekend in Michigan at Maggie's family's lake home. They went out to dinner, hung out with her family and took advantage of their boat. He took a break from golf while he was there, but did play with Jayce before he left. Cal also made it to the new Kevin Costner western. I was glad that he liked it.
After leaving here Friday night, Meg spent the rest of the weekend with Nick in Chicago. They got a few things done for the wedding and enjoyed the beautiful weather. Meg's friend Mallory visited for part of the weekend as well. Meg had a lot of fun with her, but the highlight for both of them was going to the Beach Boys concert. John Stamos was a special guest star and they absolutely loved it.
Meg, Cameron, Doug and I talked a lot this weekend about the trips that we had taken on the 4th of July and the activities that we would participate in around town when we didn't travel. I miss doing that, but knew that it wouldn't last forever once our children became adults. Thus, I really enjoyed hearing from all of them this weekend and was very glad that everyone had a wonderful holiday.
