We decided to do something different today when we drove back to Indiana. Instead of getting up at 5 a.m and leaving so that we could be in Bloomington by dinner time, we slept in a little bit and left closer to 830. Our hope was that it would make the drive a little bit easier . We had taken subs so that we had our lunch and dinner covered. Brett was busy until 10 anyway, so it was the perfect day to try it.
Our trip was relatively easy. Traffic was pretty light through Atlanta and Chattanooga. We ran into some slow spots in Nashville, but overall it was nothing like what we had had dealt with on previous trips. The biggest issue was at Buc-ees. I had never seen that many people at one gas station. There had to be at least 50 people in line to use the women’s restroom. Thankfully, it moved pretty fast.
When we arrived at Brett at 10:30 tonight, Cameron said that he couldn’t believe how quickly the trip went. I completely agreed with him. The only bad part was my leg. It had felt really good last week, but driving was pretty hard on it. I was thankful that we weren’t going all the way to Northern Indiana as I would’ve never made it.
Tonight, we ate breadsticks and played Germany Ticket to Ride with Brett. While we were playing, we also got to hear what Brett had been up to recently. It was a lot of fun and the perfect way to spend the night in Bloomington. All of us went to bed tonight super excited for the week ahead.
