A Wonderful Stay

We were all up early, hoping that we would get to see more animals off of our balcony before we had to check out of our hotel.  As soon as we opened the curtains, there were ostriches feeding on the grass below.  The giraffes kept walking up and down the path outside of our balcony as well.  We also wildebeests relaxing under the shade trees below.  The best part, however, was the zebra family that hung out outside of our room.  They had a one month old baby, and it was absolutely adorable.  We took full advantage of our checkout time, staying until 11 AM enjoying the animals and the atmosphere.  We then walked through the lobby one last time and checked out the pool area before we left.  The three of us had really enjoyed our stay and ranked this resort as one of the top in Disney World.  In saying that, however, we were all still "Boardwalk for life" as Meg said years ago.

Before we left Orlando, we wanted to play a round of mini golf.  Meg and Nick had free tickets for the summer course at Blizzard Beach that were about to expire, so they told us to use those today.  The best part was that they let all three of us play for free.  It was a hot morning, but we made it through OK. It was actually one of the best rounds that I had ever had, shooting a 35. I had to score that well, however, to beat Cameron as he had a 36.

Our last stop of the weekend was Disney Springs. We wanted to try a new place for lunch. We read through all of the restaurants and finally settled on Polite Pig as Doug had wanted to eat there for quite some time.  I was worried about the menu since it was a barbecue place, but I found a great chicken salad wrap.  Doug and Cameron stuck with more traditional barbecue foods and all of us loved our meals.   We did a little bit of shopping before we left and grabbed some Gideons cookies on the way out.  It was a great afternoon and the perfect way to end our fun weekend.
