When we sold our home in Syracuse, our realtor gave us two gifts - a bottle of champagne and a gift certificate to Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse. Doug and I were very surprised with both, but also very appreciative. We planned to save the champagne for later, but knew exactly what we wanted to do with the gift certificate. We instantly invited my parents out for dinner when we returned to Indiana this week. They had been very helpful in selling our home and we hoped that this would be a small way to repay them.
Tonight was our planned dinner and we enjoyed it very much. Doug ordered a few sharables for every one to try before our main meals arrived. Doug and Grandma Jane ordered the lobster macaroni and cheese. Grandpa had a steak and I chose one of my favorites - crab cakes. The food was delicious and we were all pretty full. That didn’t stop us, however, from ordering a piece of cake for dessert. Dad took most of his chocolate one home while Doug and I tried the carrot cake. It was a wonderful night and we were all very pleased with the evening.
