Student Athletic Board

When Cameron decided to go to IU, we talked to him a lot about what life would be like on campus.  We encouraged him to attend every class and to take care in certain situations.  He had heard from a lot of people already about getting involved, so we didn't say a lot about that.  Instead we encouraged him to attend IU's student involvement fair.  We knew that it would show him what was available and then he would be able to pick from there.  He said that he would try it.

Cameron called afterward to let us know that there were several clubs and activities that he was interested in, but the one that he was going to try first was Student Athletic Board (SAB).  It was a student group that supported all of IU's athletic teams.  Students attending would earn points that would give them "rewards" inside of SAB.  Some of those rewards included gift certificates and tours of the athletic facilities.  He had already made plans with a few of his friends to attend a men's soccer game and a women's volleyball match.

I was absolutely thrilled to hear that Cameron was interested in Student Athletic Board.  Cameron was a huge IU fan.  It just made sense to us.  We had several friends that were part of the group and we knew that it was an awesome one to join.  I had even attended a few of their events during my college days.  Thus, we were happy to hear that he had found a positive way to get involved, meet people and stay busy.  Now we were just waiting to hear what he thinks about attending his first IU field hockey game.
