Adjusting to College Life

Doug and I were at the Orlando airport very early this morning for our flight to Indianapolis.  I wasn't quite ready to travel again, but was very excited to see all of our children this weekend.   The flight was an easy one and I actually slept for a half hour or so.  We landed early enough to be able to stop by Oliver Winery for a tasting before Cameron got out of class.

I was very excited to see Cameron today.  He had called me most days since leaving for college, but I hadn't quite gotten used to not seeing him everyday.  The three of us ate lunch at Crazy Horse, enjoying a meal together on their outside patio before walking around campus.  Cameron caught us up on everything that he had been doing the past two weeks.  I was so happy to hear that his classes were going well, he had made a lot of new friends, joined a Bible study with St. Paul's and had already become heavily involved in Student Athletic Board attending soccer and volleyball games.  It was a lot of fun to hear him talk.  He was not only positive about his life at IU, but also about the Hoosiers' football team.  I was skeptical that they could beat Ohio State tomorrow, but he felt that they had a chance.  Either way, he was looking forward to the game.

Brett was able to join us after work.  It was great to see him and spend time with him as well.  I worked on some organizing projects for him and cut his hair before we left for dinner at Cafe Pizzeria where Brett caught us up on his campaign progress.  In a strange coincidence we ran into someone that we had talked to while we were boarding the plane this morning.  The rest of the evening was spent playing games and hanging out in Brett's apartment.  It was the perfect way to start our weekend.
