Senior Send Off

Meg finished her last project and final on Monday.  Since then she had been hanging out with friends, signing up for the Becker CPA review and getting her apartment ready to move out in June.  She said multiple times that she would have come home, but didn't think that it made sense as she would have had to be back today for Kelley's Senior Send Off tonight.  I was glad that she stayed.  This would be her last week to celebrate with her friends and I knew that she would really enjoy that.  In the end she had a lot of fun and was ready for Doug and I to arrive today to start the graduation celebration.

I picked Doug up at the airport this morning at 11 a.m.  His flight had been an easy one and he had just enough time to check his emails before I arrived.  We picked Meg up at noon for lunch at Social Cantina.  Traffic was crazy already in Bloomington which made me nervous about getting around for the rest of the weekend.  Thankfully, we made it across town to Meg's favorite lunch spot without too much hassle.  We really enjoyed eating with Meg and hearing about her thoughts on graduating.  She talked about her favorite memories and the year of Covid on campus.  It was a lot of fun spending time with her.

Meg decided that this afternoon would be the perfect time to take graduation pictures on campus.  I was glad that we did this today instead of trying to get them done during a busy day tomorrow.  It was a beautiful afternoon for it as well.  Nick had been in Indy for the afternoon, but was able to join us for the photo shoot.  We started in the woods near Sample Gates and let Meg choose where she wanted them taken and who she wanted in the pictures.  I loved the one in front of Circle K as Meg called me from there almost every day when she stopped to get a big pop.  After the Sample Gates area we moved on to Beck Chapel, the open green space by Ballentine Hall and then on to Showalter Fountain.  The pictures all looked wonderful.

Tonight was spent at Assembly Hall for the Kelley Business School Senior Send Off.  I appreciated that Brett was able to join us for that as well.  The ceremony was very nice with the Dean giving a short speech and then each student having their name read as they walked across the stage.  Meg received a small gift from Kelley and had her picture taken as well.  Although it got a little long as there were over 1000 students names read tonight, it was still awesome to see Meg recognized for her graduating from Kelley.  It was after nine when we finished, so we decided to grab breadsticks for dinner and then call it a night.  We had an early morning wake up call tomorrow and were absolutely exhausted from such a busy day.
