Last night was a fun night on the golf course. The Bethany Bruins played against Wawasee at Tippecanoe Country Club. It was a place that we all knew very well. My parents had been playing in events there for years. Our family had been members at the country club for several years when the Heinisch children were younger. Cal had even been a bag boy at the golf course for multiple summers.
The weather was very cold for May with rain and temperatures in the 50s. None of us got too cold, however, as we warmed up walking to hole number three to watch Cameron play. He also scored very well which kept everyone engaged. Cameron not only hit the ball well, but was on five greens in regulation and only had one three putt. That was extremely impressive as Tippy had always been know for its challenging, fast, sloping greens.
All of us were impressed with Cameron's 39, but the best part was watching how proud he was of himself. Knowing that he felt good about his round was definitely the best part of the match. The funniest part, however, was when my Mom told the bag boys that Cal's little brother was teeing off on one. For the second time in a second sport, she confused Emerson for Cameron. We all got a laugh out of that.
