Doug was up and out the door well before 4 a.m. this morning for the yearly inventory at the Elkhart plant. Long gone are the days where he had to organize it all and keep on top of the counts. Instead, he was there to supervise, give support and make a donut run if needed. The real work for Doug will come in the next few weeks as he reconciles the numbers. He will also need to be at the one in Ocala after New Year's which will add to the workload at year end.
Doug has never complained about getting up early or doing inventory, but I know from listening to him talk that it is one task that can be very stressful for CFO's. There is a lot that can go wrong. Hopefully this year's will go as well as all of those that he has participated in before. Thankfully, the physical part of this week's will be done before the snowstorm hits on Thursday and Doug can work on the rest at home. The best part for us today was enjoying the shoe picture that he snapped while he was on the floor today. He let us know that he was "just capturing the action." Next best thing to a butt dial.
