We spent the majority of today at Epcot checking out the Festival of the Holidays. Although there were not as many food booths as there were for the Food and Wine Festival, we had a lot of fun checking out the countries and trying some fun dishes. My favorite was easily the egg nog creme donut. Doug liked it, but preferred the blackened catfish overall. Meg was very excited to finally be able to order an orange slushy in France. We were completely surprised to see how uncrowded the park was today. It was a vast difference from when Brett, Cameron, Doug and I went in November. We took advantage of the low numbers to ride many of our favorites, including Remy, Frozen, Three Caballeros, Figment and Soarin' (twice.). We also bought a few items at the Festival Market before leaving.
When we originally made plans to go today, we decided to park hop over to Magic Kingdom in the afternoon. Meg and I watched the wait times all day and it looked as thought Magic Kingdom wasn't very crowded either. That changed shortly after we arrived. Everyone at Walt Disney World must have decided that parking hopping to catch the Christmas lights was a good idea as the times for rides just kept going up. We didn't mind as we only planned on riding a few and then seeing the castle all lit up. We were able to get on Pirates of the Caribbean, Winnie the Pooh and The Little Mermaid all before it got dark. Meg even tried my favorite treat - a frozen chocolate banana. The lights were definitely worth seeing and we got a lot of pictures before heading back to Ocala. All in all it was a wonderful day in Orlando.
