Meg spent the day in West LaFayette attending Nick's graduation from Purdue. She really liked how the ceremonies were for the individual schools instead of a large group one like IU's. I agreed with her and wished that IU would switch to that as well. It would make it a lot more meaningful. Meg didn't really care for the key note speaker. He was longwinded as most are, but what she really didn't like was that he made several digs at Indiana University during his speech. I really wasn't too surprised to hear that as it seems to have become normal for Purdue lately. Boilermakers and their fans have spent a lot of time ripping on IU lately. Cal calls it the "Little Brother" syndrome. Someone asked Meg why IU doesn't do the same to Purdue. She stated the same opinion that we shared - Hoosiers really don't care about Purdue. Needless to say, Meg didn't let the negativity bother her, and enjoyed the day very much.
After the ceremony the Yoder family attended an open house at the airport where Kyle "crashed" twice in the simulator. They also took pictures all over campus. We were very happy that it all went well and appreciated the photos that Meg and Nancy sent us. Nick said that it was a little sad to think that his college days were over, but he was looking forward to the next steps in life. He's had multiple job offers and plans to announce soon where he will be in the near future. We know that where every Nick "lands" he will do very well.
