Today all four of the Heinisch children had a great time hanging out with friends. Cameron was out of the house at 9:30 a.m. this morning to watch the US vs Netherlands soccer match at Avery's. We watched the same game here while painting. While our country lost, it was a still a great game to watch. The US had multiple chances to score and it was a lot closer than the 3-1 final. We didn't watch the next game, but the boys in Goshen did. Cameron was glad that Argentina won, but didn't think that the game was as well played. Once soccer was over, Cameron headed to Bethany to set up for the Christmas dance before picking up Alina. He had a lot of fun there and got a few compliments on the snowman sweatshirt that Grandma Jane gave him. They ended their night at Culver's. I was just about asleep when he arrived home close to midnight.
Meg had a great day as well. She spent the afternoon getting ready for her ugly Christmas sweater party. She texted at the end of the night to let me know that it was a lot of fun. They played her new game, "Hot Seat" as well as Trial By Trolley. She made a punch that everyone liked and had several different snacks for her friends. I was happy to hear that it went so well.
Cal arrived in Portland late Thursday night. He, David and Jayce flew out to visit their friend Brock. He sent us a video of him standing on the hills overlooking the Pacific. It was gorgeous. He told us later that he was really glad that he went, but didn't think that he would go back. The city wasn't quite what he thought it would be and there were a lot of homeless there.
Last night Brett spent the evening with his friends Sean and Jovie plus their son, Norman. They watched videos, talked about songs and ate Cracker Barrel. He really enjoyed it. Tonight, Brett went to see Chimes of Christmas at the IU Auditorium with a friend from Bible Study. He liked the second half a lot better than the first, and in the end was glad that he saw it. Overall, it was a great weekend for all four of them. It's nice to know that all of our children have been blessed with such wonderful friendships.
