And Then There Was One

We left for Orlando this morning at 10:30 to drop Meg and Nick off at the airport.  Doug, Cameron and I had made plans to go to the Cheez-It Bowl to watch Iowa play Tennessee.  On the way down, however, Cameron decided to skip the game.  He had really enjoyed going last year, but wanted to get back to Ocala before Michigan kicked off at 5 p.m.  He also felt that he had gone to a lot more college football games this year and was ok sitting this one out.  After Florida State's embarrassing loss to Georgia 63-3, our fear was that this game would be the same type of scenario.  In the end, I was very glad that he made that decision.  Iowa wasn't quite as bad, but they did lose by four touchdowns.

Meg and Nick spent their time at the airport shopping, eating lunch, working on marriage prep and checking out the Delta lounge.  Security wouldn't let anyone through until two hours before their flight which Meg really appreciated.  It cut down their time in line immensely.  Thankfully, their flight was on time and they were back in Chicago by 5:40 p.m.

Before Cameron, Doug and I left Orlando, we ate lunch at Rock N Brews.  It has become one of our favorite places to eat in Central Florida.  The food is always good and there are plenty of music videos to watch.  Today, Cameron tried their spicy chicken sandwich and got to watch the start of the LSU vs. Wisconsin game as well.  We found a Congo River Golf on our way back to Ocala.  We didn't win the scavenger hunt, but had a lot of fun trying.  Cameron narrowly beat Doug and I in what was Doug's best round in the past two years.

We stayed home tonight and watched the College Football Playoffs.  Both games were a lot closer than what we thought that they would be.  The three of us were happy to see Michigan win over Alabama.  Doug missed the second game as he had to get up early for inventory tomorrow morning.  It was a great game.  Washington led the majority of the game and Michael Penix played phenomenally.  It looked like in the end that Texas would pull out the win, but the Huskies made an incredible defensive play to hold on to win by six.  It was almost 1 a.m. when the last pass was thrown, but both of us were extremely happy with the ending.
