A Rare Moment Alone

Cameron went to Das Essenhaus this morning for brunch with the girls' basketball team from last year.  It was a nice celebration.  Cameron really enjoyed it and said that the food was excellent.  Afterward he hung out with Alina and stopped at Ignition to look at vinyls.

Meg invited Grandma and Grandpa to meet her and Nick for lunch at Papa Vino's in Mishawaka today.  Meg wanted to give them their Christmas gifts and also have them bring back her Christmas tubs.  She planned to store them in Grandma's attic.  They all enjoyed their lunches and the time together.

With everyone out of the house, Doug and I realized that it had been the first time that we had been alone since December 18th when he left for Indiana before Christmas break.  That seemed amazing to us.  We used the time to go to lunch together at Sleepy Owl, take a drive around Syracuse, and play Ticket to Ride Europe.  It was a nice afternoon and we appreciated it very much.

Alina and Cameron arrived close to 3 p.m.  They wanted to play Ticket to Ride Italy.  The version of that game gets pretty intense.  I almost never win it, but somehow did today.  Afterward, we invited Grandma and Grandpa to join us for a game of Oh Hell.  Grandma won, but Alina was most happy as she felt that she played a lot better than the first time she tried it.

We then took Cameron and Alina to dinner at Goshen Brewing Company.  It was crowded, but fortunately we got a table together.  The food was delicious and we enjoyed their company very much.  We all also got to visit with their English teacher from Bethany, Josh.  It was really nice to see him and a fun night for all.
