Doug took Cam to Shipshewana last night for a tennis lesson. He really enjoyed it and felt that he learned a lot. The group has consisted of only Bethany players so far and has become Cameron's favorites of all the lessons that he has taken over the years. Doug said that the indoor area that they played on was unique. It looked like a court inside a storage shed. Although the disorganization of it would probably bother me, it worked for what the coach and the boys needed.
Tonight I took Cam to a tennis lesson west of Goshen. One of the area tennis pros built a tennis court inside his pole barn. It was just light enough outside for Cam to see to navigate his way around the house into the barn. There were quite a few more players at this lesson. The Northridge coach was in charge and only two Bethany players were in attendance. Cam said that it went well and although it was more crowded than last night's, he still enjoyed it much more than the ones that he took in Warsaw. The lesson part at the Racquet Club was fine, but the players were not very friendly. That was not the issue tonight making it much more preferable. We're glad that Cam has had opportunities to play tennis this winter. He would really like to be a part of the varsity team next year and hopefully the lessons and time on the court in the off season will help him reach his goal.
