New Year's Eve

Meg has had a couple of really busy days.  After Rachel's party on Sunday night, Jackie arrived and stayed until this afternoon.  They had a lot of fun together, did some shopping and ate at Portillo's.  Sarah visited last night as well.  They watched movies, played Mario Kart and shared their favorite videos on Tik Tok.  Thus, I was extremely thankful that she made time to help me finish cleaning the house today.  There was still some items to finish from Christmas and floors to be swept.  Cameron helped as well and once we got everything picked up, he even decorated for the upcoming Gatorbowl.   Doug left work early to help us get ready for New Year's Eve.  I appreciated him running to the store for our late night feast.

For the past several years Cameron has gone to Breece's for a New Year's Eve party.   He opted to stay home this year as he didn't want to spend the night.  Neither Doug nor I like driving on New Year's Eve, so we couldn't really pick him up at midnight.  He was fine playing games with all of us tonight instead and in the end was the big winner on the evening finishing first in every game that we played except for Scattergories.  Grandma and Grandpa joined us for all of the activities as well and took their lumps at cards.  Nick's family went to Canada for the holiday, so he spent the night at our home.  He and Meg had the run of the basement as Cal went to Indy with Jayce for the evening.  They worked on a puzzle, watched The Help, played games with us and hung out with us for the ball drop.  We heard from Brett briefly at midnight.  His friend Rachel came down to visit him for the holiday.  They went to Oliver Winery, shopped at the mall, played games, and had dinner at Big Woods.  Doug only made it up to 12:15, but that was alright with us.  He had had two extremely busy days at work with early morning starts and a stressful inventory.  Thankfully, all went well on that end and he could enjoy the break.  All in all we ended 2019 happy that it had been a wonderful year for all and looked for to 2020.
