Christmas Concert

Tonight was our first experience with Bethany's Christmas concert.  It was held in Sauder Hall at Goshen College which was a nice venue for the holidays and quite a bit bigger than Bethany's auditorium as it had a balcony.  All four musical groups preformed starting with the choir and orchestra.  The jazz band played during the offertory which may have been my favorite part as Christmas Time from Charlie Brown was the final piece.  Afterward there was a brief intermission where audience members were encouraged to stretch their legs and take Christmas pictures.

The full band began after the break playing several cherished Christmas carols.  Once they finished the orchestra joined them on stage for one more instrumental song followed by an all inclusive singing of the Hallelujah Chorus.  Not only did the choir sing with the full orchestra, but those in attendance were encouraged to participate as well.  That gave my Dad the perfect opportunity to get up on stage with the rest of the Bethany community.  Everyone sounded wonderful and it was a fun way to end a beautiful evening.
