It's a Wrap

Brett and I were moving pretty slowly this morning, but once we got up and going we were ready to challenge Doug to one last game of 'Ticket to Ride.  Although I misread Salt Lake City for Santa Fe, it was still a close game.  Brett blocked Doug in a couple of key spots and in the end, won his first game in quite some time.  Once we were done playing, we headed to Oliver Winery for lunch.  Brett had to work at noon so we dropped his car off at the stadium.  It was a little chilly eating outside, but warmed up as the morning drew on.  Bloomington had gotten quite a bit of snow and ice earlier in the week.  The sun and higher temperatures today caused a lot of melting which led to loud booms on the overhang that we were sitting under as ice slid off the roof.  It made us jump several times while we were eating, but was more funny than annoying.

After we ate we took Brett back to the stadium and then did some shopping.  I had a few more gifts to buy for the boys, all of which needed to be purchased in Bloomington.  We also had time to make a Target run and stop at Yankee Candle.  We then stopped at the Tap for a few drinks before walking around campus.  Meg's final was not scheduled to end until 5:45 which gave us a few moments to tour the Christmas decorations at the Union.  She called just as we were leaving and reported that she thought she did well and was thrilled to be done.  We were happy to hear that.  As we had packed the Pilot earlier in the day and picked up breadsticks for the trip home, we were able to leave immediately.

I talked to Cameron several times on the way home.  He found out that he had a high A on his English final and an A+ on Geometry.  He thought that today's tests also went well.  My parents agreed to take him to Joey's Christmas party since we wouldn't be home in time.  He was looking forward to that.  Due to traffic the trip was longer than usual and we were all glad to get out of the car at 9:30.  Cal and HM were already here.  He had worked at Miso today and made it home in time to taker Hannah-Marie to Star Wars - Rise of Skywalker.  Nick picked Cam up for us, which we really appreciated after such long day.  Joey's party was as fun as Cameron had thought that it would be and everyone was happy to officially be on Christmas break.
