IU Athletic Department

Brett started at IU Athletics right after Thanksgiving break.  He earned this position because of his work at the Union and several successful interviews.  Although the Union had worked out well for him, he was ready for something full time and with benefits.  The Union was also closing for remodeling on December 21st and Brett wasn't sure where he would be positioned after that date.  Thus, IU Athletics was the perfect opportunity at just the right time.

After three weeks into the new career move, Brett was happy to report that he absolutely loved it at his new job.  He had spent his time setting up for special events, working team meals and overseeing several parties.  Everyday has brought something new and the people that he works with have been great to him.  He finished filling out his benefits online this afternoon and although he will not need health insurance until the next enrollment period in November 2020, he was pleased to hear that he will received 10% in retirement benefits starting January 1st.  Indiana University had just changed their plan once again making the switch perfect.

As a non-sports fan in a sports family, the irony of Brett working at the athletic department has been not only funny to him but to all of us.  He now can keep up with Cam on IU football talk and hopes to one day give him a personal tour of the stadium - at least the area that he works in daily.  The benefits, the availability of overtime, twelve days of vacation and increase in pay, Brett decided that he's committed to Bloomington for at least one more year.  He turned in his application to stay at Woodbridge through May of 2021.  He hasn't dropped his dream of working in politics either and planned to run for state delegate and percent committeeman next year as well.
