I talked to Cameron several times this week. He was very happy to be at IU, but had mixed feelings about Welcome Week. There were events that he really liked - the pep rally at Memorial Stadium where he caught a t-shirt, and some that he thought were just ok - the Freshman Induction ceremony. Overall, he felt that the week got kind of long and that it should have been more of a Welcome Weekend instead of six days.
The best part about it all was that Cameron met several people on his floor that had shared interests. He had people to eat meals with and to watch Football with on Sunday nights. He also connected with two guys that he met at Orientation and hung out with them several times. Cameron followed Doug's advice and walked to each one of his classes multiple times and felt comfortable with the layout of campus. He was definitely ready to start classes tomorrow and I looked forward to hearing all about them.
