Not too long ago it dawned on Cameron and I that we hadn't taken Grandma and Grandpa to Paige's Crossing this summer. We had had so much fun during past summer trips that we didn't want to miss out this year. Plus we wanted to see if we could play a round of mini golf without Grandpa almost falling in the water chasing an errant ball. Although, we would have enjoyed watching that if it did happen. Either way, with Doug in Florida this week, we knew that yesterday was the perfect day for our annual trip.
With school in session, Paige's Crossing was empty. We appreciated the open courses and played two rounds before the afternoon was over. Cameron ended up being the big winner on the day, but Grandpa and I were close. Grandma played well, but as she always says, "Someone has to lose, so it might as well be me." No matter who won, we all had a great time and celebrated with ice cream at Culver's afterward, thankful that we all made time for one last trip to Paige's Crossing before Cameron left for college.
