Joshua and Benjamin

Meg arrived home last night as she and Nick had to move the last of their furniture up to Chicago.  He had borrowed his Dad's truck to take the purple couch and chair.  We were a little worried about how he was going to get them up the narrow staircase to their third floor apartment, but once we figured out how to get the legs off of the couch and chair, we knew that they would fit.  Thankfully, Nick's Uncle Kevin was available to help him and by the end of the evening he had everything perfectly situated in their living room.

After Nick left with the loaded van, Cameron, Meg and I headed to Grandma's to pick up all of the garage sale boxes that we were donating to The Depot.  After our trip to Goshen, the three of us headed to South Bend.  Jeannette had an engagement gift for Meg and Nick that we wanted to pickup before Meg went back to Chicago.  It also gave me one last chance to visit Jeannette and Jackie's families before I moved.

Meg, Cameron and I had a lot of fun visiting with everyone.  Evan, Bryce and Anna were getting ready to start school soon.  There was a lot of talk about that and Evan getting his first car.  As much as we enjoyed talking to everyone, our favorite moments of the night came from Joshua and Benjamin.  Benjamin showed us all his favorite stuffed animals that he "bought" at our garage sale.  He even wrestled a few for us.  Joshua had several toads and frogs that he wanted us to meet.  Our favorite was "Big Mama."  She had been captured many times and put into the boys' habitat.  After being let go, she always returned to their yard.  Meg felt privileged that she got to name a few with "Cameron" being the first name on the list.  Talking to the brothers reminded me a lot of when Brett and Cal were younger.  Just like them, my boys were also always together with Cal having the most energy and Brett being extremely interested in a specific topic that he liked to share with everyone.

We ended our visit to South Bend with Meg opening her matching engagement mugs from Jeanette and dinner at Macri's.  I couldn't remember the last time that we had been there.  The three of us each enjoyed our meal and the conversation that flowed about their lives together when they were younger.  Overall, it was a wonderful day that I will remember for quite some time.
