Doug spent this week working in Ocala. Although he was only away from home four and a half days, it felt much longer. I believe that might have been because Cameron was also extremely busy this week with different after school events and wasn't home much either. I did make good use of my alone time by starting the process of organizing all of the photos and mementos at my parents' house, grocery shopping, exercising and cleaning the house. It wasn't all work, however, as I met Paula and Mary for a long walk at the WACF. It was a lot of fun catching up with the two of them, especially in regards to Mary's trip to Fargo, North Dakota. While Doug was gone, I also had time to watch a few Halloween shows, including Brett's favorite, A Nightmare Before Christmas.
Even with all of the activity to keep me busy, I was extremely happy to see Doug walk through the door tonight. I was glad to hear that his flight had gone smoothly and his drive from Indy was traffic-free. Cameron was happy to see his Dad as well. I'm not sure that he missed him as much as I did, but he was glad that Doug made it home before we went to bed. That may have been because he wanted to fill him in on his week. It also could have been because Cameron and I had watched a thriller tonight that Cal recommended called "The Strangers." Cal told us that it was one of the scariest movies that he had ever seen, but thought we might enjoy it. I don't know if Cameron and I could say that we enjoyed the movie, but I know that we did agree with Cal about how scary it was. In fact we watched it during the daylight and we were still scared. Cal texted us when it was over and asked what Cameron thought. Cameron replied, "I had to go to my van to get my backpack afterward and I was completely terrified. I will never look outside after dark again." Thus, there was an added bonus to having Doug home. We had an extra person here to help fight off any random killers if they happened to knock on our door in the middle of the night.
