Fashion Farm

Today Cameron and I took our annual trip to Fashion Farm in Ligonier.  The weather, just like yesterday, was absolutely beautiful, so it was the perfect day for a visit.  We thought that since it was a Monday afternoon that we'd have the place to ourselves.  We were wrong as it was more crowded than we expected, but we were still able to do everything that we wanted to during our time there.

Our first stop was Fantasyland.  The theme this year was Mythical Magical Creatures and featured a large  display of Harry Potter character pumpkins.  There were also elves, trolls, fairies, dragons and more.  It was different than their themes of the past and we enjoyed it.  We were also able to find all six of the "hidden" gnomes mixed in with the displays.  As much as we liked the decorated pumpkins and finding the gnomes, our favorite part was the preview of next year's theme - "Retro Fantasyland" in honor of their 50th anniversary.  If it's anything like the preview, it will definitely be fun to see.

After we finished with the pumpkins, we headed to the grass maze.  Once again, Cameron was too tall for it, but had fun walking through it just the same.  It made for some great pictures as well.  While we were there he also tried out the tire spin and a mathematical maze, figuring out the solution in thirty seconds.  We thought it was funny that one family was still there trying to figure it out well after we were gone.  Before we left, Cameron and I also picked out pumpkins and gourds for the front porch and some pumpkin spice caramel corn to try.  The only disappointing part about today was the fact that they were out of pumpkin ice cream and donuts.  I'll have to run over another time to pick some up for everyone.

Cameron and I had a lot of fun this afternoon.  I appreciated him going with me once again this year.  Meg has told me multiple times that she is coming back next fall to go with us as it will most likely be our last trip to Fashion Farm before moving out of Indiana.  After seeing the 50th anniversary pumpkins, I think it will be our best trip ever.
