Visiting Mrs. Meek

Since Meg and I got so much done yesterday, we decided to go shopping early this afternoon.  Our main objective was to purchase some Nike shorts and a ring holder.  Meg found the shorts at Dick's and purchased three pair.  We stopped at Kohl's and purchased the cutest whale that will work perfectly for her rings.  The only other stop that we had to make was at American Eagle.  Meg wanted to buy jeans from their online sale, but didn't know her true size.  After trying a few on, she felt confident in what she needed.  Meg's favorite stop in South Bend was Papa Vino's for lunch.  She got her usual lasagna and I tried the manicotti.  Both were delicious.

Our main objective of the afternoon was to finish our shopping in time to meet Mrs. Meek.  Meg had not seen her all summer and definitely wanted to catch up with her before she left for IU.  We both had a fantastic visit with her, filling her in on all that Meg had been up to and listening to her summer adventures.  We were sad to hear about her dog Lily.  Mrs. Meek had to put her down several weeks ago due to illness.  It was nice to see Izzy out and about, however.

We thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon with Meg's beloved piano teacher and visited for well over an hour before heading to Cam's tennis match.  Meg was glad to go to the match as several of her friends were there.  She and Sarah ran to get food at Culver's before Cam's match started.  He was slotted as #2 singles on the JV team and played very well.  The first four games went to deuce and unfortunately for Cam, he lost each one of those close games.  He rebounded well, however, and won three out of the next four before losing 8-3.  The coach scheduled him for a doubles match afterward, but Cam had to retire with a 4-0 lead.  His back had tightened on him and he could barely stand up.  We got him some ice and Ibuprofen before we left and had him do stretches and heat once we got home.  Hopefully, he will be able to play tomorrow, but right now, he's not sure.
