You Have to Look Like a Winner, To Be a Winner

Cameron got a text late last night letting him know that they would be dressing up for their match against Fremont today.  He quickly ran upstairs, picked out a shirt and asked me if I could iron it.  He looked very nice this morning and even let me take his picture this morning before he headed out the door.  More pictures were posted on Instagram later that day showcasing the Bethany Bruins tennis team looking good on "game day."

Although they may have been the best dressed on the court tonight, Fremont got the better of them in score winning all five courts.  Bethany had hoped that a change in lineup would help their chances of winning, but in the end the 8-0 Eagles were just too tough for them.  There were a lot of positives for Bethany tonight including a new pairing at two doubles that went to three sets before losing a close match.

I was happy to hear from Cameron that he felt that he had played well tonight.  I definitely agreed.  He hit multiple winners and rallied very well against a veteran opponent.  Cameron has improved immensely this fall and I know that a win is waiting for him out there this season.  As well as he played, my favorite point of the night actually happened when he missed an overhead and tried to run around and return the ball from the backcourt.  Unfortunately, his feet got tangled up and he end up on his back while the ball sailed into the number one doubles court off the top of his racket.  As we waited to see if he was alright, his coach let him know that that would be "one for the highlight reels."  Overall, it was a fun night on the tennis courts and the best part was that Doug was home from his week in Ocala waiting to hear all about it when Cameron arrived at the end of the evening.
