The weather this weekend was absolutely gorgeous. Highs were in the low 80s and temperatures at night were perfect for sleeping. As soon as we read the forecast on Friday, we turned off the air conditioning and opened up the windows in our home. It was a welcome relief after the Florida like weather that we had been having. Last week we had heat indexes of over 100 degrees multiple times with the humidity was so high that the afternoons and evenings were filled with strong storms. Several schools in our area couldn't even host students on Thursday or Friday due to downed power lines and tree debris. Thankfully, all of our trees stayed intact and we walked away from the week of storms with no major damage.
Doug and I took full advantage of these past three beautiful days by enjoying outside activities as much as possible. We played multiple games of Ticket to Ride on our back porch, had nightly bonfires, tried a few new beers on the patio of Goshen Brewing Company, celebrated Nick's baptism on the lakefront, and took several long walks on the WACF trail accumulating almost eight miles total. Overall, it was just a wonderful weekend and we hoped for many more days like it in the near future.
