Kings Island Revisted

Meg left with Nick on Monday to help him move into his new place at Purdue.  He couldn't get the key until 3:30 p.m. so they weren't able to fully unpack, but they did get everything in the house.  Yesterday, they took a break from unpacking for a day trip to King's Island.  It had been several years since we had been there and I was anxious to hear what they thought of one of our favorite summer amusement parks.

Meg reported right away that most of the rides were still in the operation, but those in the family area had new names.  King's Island no longer had the rights to the Nickelodeon characters and instead were using the Peanuts gang.  Thus, our favorite Reptar coaster had become the Red Baron.  Thankfully, the names changes didn't alter any of the fun and they enjoyed all of them just as much as we had.  Meg tried a few roller coasters but decided they were a little too much for her.  Thus, she spent some time shopping while Nick rode on them solo.  He really enjoyed them as he hadn't been to an amusement park since he was fourteen.  The benefit of having a lot of shopping time for Meg was that she found a few Peanuts items for her apartment.

I enjoyed hearing from Meg and the pictures that she sent.  They brought back a flood of memories of the wonderful trips that we took to Cincinnati.  I also loved seeing her walk through the park on Find My Phone and pass Boo Blasters or Woodstock's Whirlybirds.  Meg sent more pictures when she returned back to West Lafayette of the souvenirs that she bought.  I was happy that she and Nick were able to spend the day together enjoying the last few moments of summer vacation.  I think next time, however, I might just have to tag along.
