Garage Sale Weekend

Syracuse has always hosted a town wide garage sale event during the first weekend of August and this year was no exception.  For the first time in a few years we decided to join them.  I had cleared out my house two years ago, hoping to have one in the spring of 2020.  The pandemic changed that plan, however.  Thus, we decided that the next best idea was to have one this year at Mom's during the town event.

There were several times this past week that I really regretted that decision.  I had already spent a lot of time last winter organizing and pricing all of our items, but it was a lot more work to get everything set up this week.  I was positive that our reward would be minimal as it didn't feel like we had much to offer this time.

Thankfully, I was completely proven wrong yesterday as in total we brought in over $700 worth of money.  Grandma and Grandpa made the most, but the rest of were please with our results as well.  Today's sale was a lot slower, but we still made over $200 all together.  We are hoping for $67 tomorrow which would put us over the $1000 mark.  No matter what we were all pleasantly surprised with the extra cash and happy to see so many of our items off to new homes.
