While Meg was home, Doug really wanted to take her and Cameron to Chicago to visit Cal. Thankfully, both were available today and Cal said that the afternoon would be perfect for a visit. He had had friends in for the weekend, but left Sunday open for us. The four of us left here around 10:30 and were outside his apartment by noon Chicago time. We chose not to visit Cal's place this trip as several of his friends were still there and we didn't want to disturb anyone.
Once we got the parking pass on the Pilot, we all walked toward Wrigley Field. The gates were open outside and there were families using the area for picnics and to let their children run through the water streaming out of the cement fountain. It was fun walking through the common area and then around the ballpark looking at the names in the bricks and all of the statues.
We left after a few goodbye hugs. It had been a wonderful afternoon and I was glad that Meg and Cameron were able to join us this time. We all agreed on the way home that Cal definitely had a nice neighborhood to live in and a lot more choices for activities. By the time we got home we had already started talking about return trips to Chicago.
