Our day started much as it had yesterday with a mid morning trip to EPCOT by Uber. Our first ride was once again Test Track, but this time we headed to Soarin' afterward in order to miss the forty minute line we stood in yesterday for our favorite ride. Once we finished with the ride portion of our day, Doug and I started to explore some of the top ranked outdoor kitchens of the Flower & Garden Festival by the Disney Food Blog. We were surprised by how many there were that we hadn't tried yesterday. The food blog voted Sunshine Griddle as the Best of the Fest and we couldn't agree more. Doug really liked the shrimp and grits. I thought they were delicious as well, but the best food choice by far was the fried cinnamon roll bites especially the cream cheese filling. We also finally found the highly rated Farmer's Feast booth inside the Festival Favorites building. We tried several dishes that were delicious there as well as the famous Hibiscus Lemonade Cocktail which we both enjoyed.
We then spent the rest of the afternoon looking though the shops and trying a few more of the food booths throughout EPCOT. The weather was quite a bit hotter than yesterday and by 4 p.m. we were both ready to catch the bus back to Disney Springs. There were quite a few people shopping and eating there, so we didn't stay very long. We did manage to make it to the food truck area, the M & M store and Ghirardelli's where I finally got my caramel and hot fudge sundae. The virtual queue was twenty-five minutes long, but well worth the wait. We were both exhausted by the time we walked back to the hotel, but were happy with how wonderful our day had been. I thought a lot about the past year and how helpful the Disney Food Blog had been to pass time during the pandemic and to take my mind off of Covid. I felt incredibly blessed today that we were actually able to do some of the things that I saw in their weekly videos.
