A Wonderful Day to Plant Flowers

It was cloudy today, but the temperatures stayed in the upper 60s making it the perfect day to plant flowers and mulch.  We bought our favorites last night from Clayton's - impatients, wavy petunias, geraniums and a hibiscus for the front porch.  Doug was up early to get a jump start on the project. By the time I joined him, he already had completed the front area.  I helped by filling all of the planters while he finished the backyard.  After we used all of the flowers that we had bought at Clayton's last night, we realized that we were still two planters short.  We stopped at the grocery store before heading back to North Webster when we realized that New Market had exactly what we needed - a beautiful purple hanging basket for the hummingbirds and another one that we could take apart and use in our watering can.  The price was perfect and it saved us a trip back to Clayton's.  With our new purchases we were able to finish the yard work well before dinner.  I was impressed with how well everything looked and appreciated how hard Doug worked today to get it all done.
