A Brand New Smile

Meg arrived home the weekend after finishing her sophomore year hoping to relax a little bit and re-energize before starting summer school.  She wasn't quite ready to tackle I-Core, but knew that if she finished it before the fall she would be well ahead of her classmates in the business school.  Classes started off challenging, but by the time she left yesterday she had a plan for how best to tackle the workload.

Her time at home wasn't all work.  She spent last weekend with Nick at his brother's place in Detroit.  She also got to visit her grandparents,  hang out with Sarah, take walks with me and start Stranger Things with Cameron.  The most important part of being home these past two weeks, however, was getting her braces off.  She had grown accustomed to having braces and wasn't too sure about having two retainers in her mouth for the next nine months.  The more she got used to them the better she felt about the new appliances

Doug and I were happy for her to be done with the hardest part of orthodonture work.  Her teeth looked awesome and the tooth that we once feared would be a long term issue, had been completely corrected.  We were also glad to hear today that Meg was finely feeling good about it all too, especially when she reported that the retainers had already helped to completely close the gaps in between her bottom teeth from her previous oral surgery.  It had been a lot of fun having her at home these past two weeks.  I am already looking forward to seeing her again next weekend as she returns for all of the Memorial Day festivities.
