A Tough Back Nine

Cameron was back at Bent Oak today, this time for an eighteen hole tournament.  The weather was a little warmer than Thursday but still cool for May.  Thankfully, it was a shotgun start at 1 p.m. so we missed the frost of the morning.

Cameron started on hole number 1 and hit his drives well on the front nine.  He said that he struggled more with his irons this time, but overall was happy with his play.  He didn't score as well as he did on Thursday but still finished with a 43.  He had hoped for lower, but still had a chance to shoot the 85 that we talked about last night.  The difference in difficulty at Bent Oak between the front nine and the back nine was incredible.  Cameron played the first and second holes very well, but after those two the amount of hazards, tight fairways, out of bounds and fast greens became extremely challenging.  In the end he finished with an 89.  Two out of bounds cost him him his goal of 85. Once he realized that he felt very good about today, especially since one of the balls was only out by two inches.  It also helped that he had a gallery following him this afternoon as Bailee and Annika walked the last nine holes with us.  Cam really enjoyed the two golfers in his group which made the day even more fun.
