I was so glad that today was Friday. Doug was gone last weekend and I was looking forward to spending time with him. Once he got home tonight from picking up Cameron at golf practice, the three of us ordered Pizza Hut and settled in for the evening. Cam skipped out of our games of Ticket to Ride instead joining an online game of Jackpot with his friends. We didn't mind as we knew that he would enjoy that much more than hanging out with his parents.
After Doug won both of our games this evening, we decided to watch a movie. Cal had suggested "Escape from New York" to us. He had seen it on HBO Max earlier in the week and really liked it. It was from 1981 and starred Kurt Russell. It had a lot of action and an interesting story revolving around a prison built in Manhattan. The president's plane had crashed inside its walls and Kurt Russell had to save him. It definitely kept us entertained and capped off a fun start to the weekend.
