Meg had an early morning orthodontist appointment today which proved to be successful. Everything looked perfect for her to get her braces off in May except for one area that still needed to close from when she had her baby teeth extracted two years ago. They added a ball and chain to her bracket and said that it should do the trick. She confirmed her next appointment for May 10th and grabbed a big pop on the way home to celebrate the news.
This afternoon Meg joined me for Cameron's match against Goshen and Elkhart at Black Squirrel. It was a little cool, but overall a nice evening for golf. Meg stayed for a couple of holes, while Doug, Grandpa and I followed along for the rest. Cameron played well especially his eight foot and under putting. He stepped onto the ninth tee with two pars and five bogeys hoping to finish with a 42 or 43. Unfortunately, his second shot landed under a pine tree. He was able to get it out and even hit the green, but it took a hard hop and ended up out of bounds. From there he finished with a ten on the par five. Although it wasn't the score that he wanted and was extremely disappointing for him, we saw signs of consistent play on the horizon with lower scores in the near future. The best part of the night was that Sam, Avery and Richard were waiting for him after he turned in his score which definitely helped cheer him up.
