Meg's Bachelorette Party

When Meg started talking about a bachelorette party, it became apparent that she really didn’t want anything elaborate.  She had heard about other women having destination bachelorette parties, but Meg thought that would be hard with a large group.  Once she and Gabrielle started talking about it, Meg realized that what she really wanted to do was go on a weekend girls trip with just Gabrielle to Walt Disney World.  They had been talking about doing that since their days at Camp Crosley and it would be the perfect way to celebrate Meg's upcoming wedding.  After the get together with their large group of friends at the Fiscus's during Memorial Day weekend, Meg and Gabrielle started planning her Disney bachelorette trip.

The girls left this past Friday night after work and flew to Orlando.  They had chosen Portland Riverside for their getaway and were super excited about the next three days.  I really appreciate that they started a group chat with Paula and I.  They sent so many fun pictures for us to look at that it almost felt like we were with them.  We saw their coordinating outfits, the fun Mickey Mouse ears, awesome ride pictures and even some of their special drinks.

Saturday, the girls spent the day at Hollywood Studios and really enjoyed it, especially Star Wars land.  Sunday turned out differently than they had planned as their ticket would not let them in to Magic Kingdom.  It might have been disappointing at first, but in the end they both had so much fun at Epcot drinking around the world and shopping that they didn’t mind at all. Gabrielle even got to try the new roller coaster, Guardians of the Galaxy.  She said it was the best one she had ever ridden.

Today was spent at Animal Kingdom and they really enjoyed it even with the heat and the storm it produced.  They were absolutely exhausted when we caught up with them at the Orlando airport, but both were extremely happy. I was so glad to see them and share a little bit of their adventure. As we drove home, I thought how hard it was to believe the two little girls that started going to camp so many years ago just had one of the best weekends of their lives together on a bachelorette trip.  How awesome it was to see life come full circle.  I did decided, however, that Paula and I needed to be included on the next girls trip.
