Making the Most of Every Hour

Today was Daylight Savings Time, but Doug and I actually turned our clocks back an hour before we went to bed last night.  I was all excited about the extra hour to sleep in, but the time change backfired on both Doug and I.  We each woke up at 4:30 a.m. and couldn't really sleep much after that.  Thankfully, the rest of the Heinisch children had no problem with the change and used their extra hour for a lot of fun activities.

Meg went to Purdue for the weekend.  She and Nick ate out, went shopping and attended the Purdue game with Kyle and Nancy.  The rainy, windy weather didn't cut their time at the football game short.  It was Purdue's poor play that had them heading out of the stadium with Iowa up 24-3 in the third quater.  Cameron also had a lot of fun with his extra hour.  He was invited to Jennifer Rios' Quinseanera last night and also asked to sing at the event.  He picked Richard's favorite Kid Cudi song and felt that it went well.  He said that the night was sad at times especially when they played the slideshow from Richard's visitation or when they gave Jenny a teddy bear that sang Happy Birthday in Ricard's voice.  He did enjoy it, however, and was pleased to be asked to be a part of it.

Cal used his extra hour to hang out with Rachel and to watch football.  He tried the Goose Island Brewery and really liked it.  He was also pleased with Aaron Rodgers three interceptions, Justin Fields' record breaking run, and Tampa Bay's win.  Brett didn't watch football, but he did enjoy his extra hour as well.  He hung out with Andrew, played a few video games, did some writing and attended mass.  Overall, it was a nice weekend for the members of our family and I was glad that everyone got an extra hour to enjoy it.
