Keeping Busy, But Still Enjoying Life

Brett, Cal and Meg have definitely been busy this past week.  One of Brett's coworkers has been out on maternity leave and another one gave his one month notice.  As there were only three in his department when he started, he's definitely had to increase his workload.  The nice part for him has been that he gets paid on commission, so he's been making more money.  That along with his mid-year bonus has increased his ability to put more money into savings and increase the amount that he has put on his car loan.  He was very excited about that.

Cal has reaped the benefits of hard work as well as he was also given a bonus and even a pay raise this summer.  He is planning on using his extra income to take a trip to see Hannah-Marie in the Keys next week.  Unfortunately, he's also going to have to use a portion of it to pay for new tires for the CR-V.  In addition, he's enjoyed the fact that he has been able to work from home this spring and summer.  That has  allowed him the flexibility to travel to see us, his friends and HM without taking vacation days.

Studying has been the mainstay of Meg's summer.  I-Core has definitely been challenging.  Having her own apartment has helped as she has had a quiet place to study and room to get up and move around.  She's also been cooking a lot more since she has a fully functioning kitchen.  Today she called to let me know that she was finally all caught up on her homework and even a little bit ahead.  I was glad to hear that, but I believe that Nick may have been more so than I.  Since they both had free evenings, he decided to come down and take her out to dinner.  I was happy for her and glad that she had a night off from studying.
