All the way home from Bloomington on Monday, Cameron told us that he was hanging up his golf clubs after his final summer golf tournament at Chestnut Hills on Tuesday. He even went as far as to say that he was never playing again. I questioned him about it and he finally retracted his statement to say that "he was putting his clubs away for at least a month."
After yesterday's Chestnut Hills tourney, Cameron started to change his thoughts about golf once again as he was extremely pleased with how he had played. He had hit the ball well all day, but a couple of issues on the front had lead to a 45. When he walked off of nine green, he said he knew what he needed to do to score better on the back. He followed through with his plan of keeping his head down and shot an impressive 39 on the back for an eighteen hole score of 84. He was thrilled and also happy that Parce was able to make it to his match today along with Grandma and I.
Cameron talked all the way home about his 11th place finish and what he was going to work on next. I reminded him that he was going to hang up his clubs for the next month to take a break and focus only on tennis. He just laughed. His month break didn't even last a day. Cameron called me after tennis this afternoon to let me know that he and Breece were going golfing at Black Squirrel once he finished lunch with Bailee. Needless to say, I wasn't surprised at all.
