Since Cameron had started attending Bethany four years ago, we had heard about Music on the Lawn, but had never attended. We found out this fall that it was a fund raiser for the high school music programs. We weren't sure what to expect, but were pleasantly surprised at how well the orchestra, band and choir performed. Cam participated in both the jazz band and concert band. He had an awesome solo part in the song Yesterday. I was impressed with how well he did. Although I enjoyed all of the songs that the two bands played, my favorite was "Evermore" from Beauty and the Beast.
As much as we enjoyed the music portion of the program tonight, the dinner wasn't quite aimed toward our family. It featured pulled pork sandwiches, which none of us preferred. As soon as we got home we ordered pizzas since no one ate very much. As the money for the dinner was aimed toward music field trips, I didn't mind buying the tickets, however. Listening to the music was more than worth the cost of the dinner.
