Tonight Cameron played his second match at number one singles for the junior varsity team. It was by far his best match of the season. His first serve was fantastic and the most consistent that we have seen him hit. The match was an intense back and forth set with most games ending in deuce. When the score reached 5-4 in his opponents favor, Matt reminded Cam that he had stated at practice that his best weapon was his accuracy. He encouraged him to reach deep and rely on accurate shots to win points. He also told Cam not to worry about the score, but to focus on the point at hand. The words of wisdom helped Cameron to finally overcome the one block that he had struggled with all season - winning big points. With renewed energy he put shots away and hit some awesome winners during the next three games, finally beating the Northwood senior 7-5. We were all extremely proud of him. Cam had worked hard this season to improve his game and it definitely showed tonight.
