Long Night, Short Match

Cameron played at Elkhart Central tonight in what turned out to be a very quick match for him.  We weren't sure how it would turn out when they were first introduced as Cam's opponent was a senior.  Cam started off strong, however, and didn't let down.  He served well and hit consistant shots in what turned out to be a thirty minute 6-1 victory.  I was glad that we arrived early as we would have missed it otherwise.

Cam stayed with his team to watch the varsity team play.  My parents had ridden with me.  Once we got to the Chief, they took the van back so Doug and I could go to dinner while we were waiting for Cam.  We picked Hacienda since it was close.  We were surprised when we realized that we had finished eating and that Cam hadn't texted that he was on his way back to Bethany yet.  Thinking that maybe he forgot, I checked Find My Phone and confirmed that he was still at Elkhart Central.  Shortly after that we heard from Cam that two of the varsity courts had gone to third sets.  Thus, we went ahead and ordered another drink and continued to wait in Goshen.  It was close to 8:30 by the time Cam got into the Pilot.  We found out that Bethany won 4-1.  Cam was happy about that and with how he played.  We were very glad to hear that.
