There He Goes

Cal had planned on leaving this morning for Bloomington, but had a slight delay.  On Friday Brett had driven the truck and said that the brakes were not working correctly.  Yesterday both Doug and Cal drove it and agreed that they had to push the pedal all the way to the floor to get it to stop.  Doug dropped it off at Monteith last night hoping they would have time to look at it.  First thing this morning he called and they weren't sure that they would get it in before Thursday.

After hearing that I called several other places and found a brake shop in Warsaw that could have it fixed today.  Cal and I ran down to get it and Monteith had already diagnosed the issue - a rusty brake line. By 1:30 they had it repaired and Cal, my Mom and I were busy getting his truck loaded for the trip.  As we had to reload the fridge it took a little longer than normal, but by 2:30 he was ready to go.

I don't normally get sad when the boys leave for IU as I know that they are happy getting back to Bloomington.  Today, however, I did tear up when Cal got in the truck.  He has been home for two months and we have all gotten to spend a lot of time with him.  He's been helpful around the house and has been fun to hang out with this summer.  It will be strangely quiet with Cal gone.  Thankfully, Brett will be here the rest of the week.
