She Shoots, She Scores (Times Two)

Tonight Meg had her first soccer game of the season and it was absolutely fantastic.  They played Lakeland Christian Academy which Meg was excited about as one of her good friends from middle school, Lauren, was on their team.  In fact they were both captains.  Meg knew that the game would be tough as LCA had played well in their first two games.  Bethany scored first when Meg got a foot on the ball on a pass in front of the goal.  She had actually almost scored right before that on an awesome turn from behind, but the ball just missed.  LCA scored the next two goals and with fifteen minutes left in the game, it looked as though the game would end that way.  Meg, however, made an awesome trap that turned into a left foot goal in the back of the net.  The game ended in a 2-2 tie with both teams hoping for a rematch at sectionals.

I was so happy for Meg.  She worked hard this summer to prove that she was a deserving member of the Bethany team.  She showed everyone that tonight.  Even if the season ended tomorrow, no one could take tonight away from her.  It was a lot of fun to watch.
