It was a rainy, wet day in Indiana but we still enjoyed it. Doug and I first went to the girls' field hockey match where IU took on Northwestern who was ranked #1 in the country. The women played tough and took more shots on goal than the Wildcats, but in the end lost 1-0. I was impressed with how many fans were in the stands and also that I made it through the end of the third quarter as it rained most of the game. Cameron was pleased with the game and even more so with the amount of students in attendance.
We took Cameron to lunch at Dats afterward. I hadn't been there since they moved locations. It was very good and a nice way to end our weekend in Bloomington. We dropped Cameron off at his apartment and headed to Indianapolis next to see Paula. She had just moved into her new house and I couldn't wait to see it. We arrived a little after 3 and loved touring her home with her. She had put a lot of work into building her house and it looked fantastic. After touring, we walked with her through the neighborhood to the winery that Paula could see from her back patio. It was very nice. Doug enjoyed a glass of wine while we all soaked in the atmosphere and caught up. It was a lot of fun.
We arrived in Syracuse just in time to pick up dinner from Pizza Hut. My mom looked pretty wiped out. Her stomach still hurt a lot and she couldn't eat much of anything. It was hard for her to move around, let alone walk very far. Even so, I was just glad that she survived the surgery. She will heal, it will just take time. Thankfully, she'll be able to rest and recoup now.
