I was so glad that we made the trip to Bloomington to celebrate Brett's 25th birthday last weekend. Work and school schedules along with last night's snow storm would have made it pretty challenging to visit him today. Even though we couldn't be with him we all enjoyed texting him and sharing posts on social media honoring "Brettday!"
It has been an exciting year for Brett with more change occurring during this one than any of his previous twenty-four. Since February 2019, Brett graduated with his masters, became financially independent, moved into his first apartment, wrote half of a novel, declared his candidacy for Precinct Committeemen and Indiana delegate, penned several political articles for the Herald Times, helped on multiple campaigns, joined the Knights of Columbus, began work at IU athletics, traveled to Florida and started a relationship. In addition Brett has remained an active member of the Heinisch family by helping Meg transition to college life and hosting Cam, Doug and I during our many trips to Bloomington this year. We feel incredibly blessed that he chose to stay in B-town and have enjoyed our visits with him immensely. With all of the excitement that this year has brought we cannot wait to see what lies in store for him during the next one.
