Cal heard this afternoon that one of his friends from high school committed suicide today. He was completely taken off guard by the news as Hunter had spent the weekend at his house in Bloomington over Little 500 week. Cal asked me why someone would even consider taking their own life. That was a tough question to answer as none of us really know what someone in that situation was thinking. I felt awful all night thinking about his family. His Dad had died in January after a long bout with cancer. It sure seemed like a lot for one family to have to deal with.
This wasn't the first time that Cal had asked some tough questions that we just couldn't answer. He's had one friend die of cancer, known four young adults that had been involved in murders, and now has lost four classmates to suicide. With this one being closest to his friend group it will be a harder for everyone to move past. Ultimately, they will, just hope and pray that it was the last one.
