Doug told me this morning that today was his parents 50th wedding anniversary. I thought back to the stories that Jeanette told us about her wedding day. The one I remember most was how she fainted from the heat of the building and had to be helped out the back of the church to catch her breath during the ceremony. As I thought of that story, I was glad that we had saved her wedding dress. No one may ever wear it again, but one day her granddaughters will like to see what their beloved Grandma wore on her big day so many years ago.
We had spent a lot of time talking about Jeanette last weekend after Kathy Yeager's funeral. All of the Heinisch children miss her terribly, but they can finally listen to "Here I am Lord" without their heart breaking. They have fond memories of her and it was nice to listen to them share their favorite ones. Brett and Cal remarked that they missed her more than they thought possible. Brett loved his weekly calls with her. Cal said he dreamt about her last week. In his dream he introduced her to Hannah-Marie. Doug's note to Meg for sectional was on her stationary. Meg said she took one look and had to choke back tears. Her death was a loss to our family, but this week it was nice to be reminded of how much she was and still is part of our lives.
